Four institutions of higher education--
Anderson University, the
North Dakota University System,
Indiana University, and
City University of New York--have gone public with their deployments of software from
Oracle. They're among 13 colleges and universities that have recently implemented or selected applications from the vendor.
Anderson University, a private university of 2,700 undergraduate and graduate students in central Indiana, is implementing Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions, PeopleSoft Enterprise Financial Management and PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Resources Management to improve service to students, faculty, and staff and reduce expense. The university has gone live on modules for recruiting and admissions, registrar, finance, and student financials. Anderson is implementing the solutions with the assistance of consulting firm
MIS.
"With Oracle, we are able to manage our student services and business operations more efficiently and effectively than ever before," said Michael E. Collette, VP, Enrollment Management and Information Systems.
The North Dakota University System (NDUS), an 11-institution public education system, including comprehensive research intensive universities, recently completed an upgrade to PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions 9.0 with the help of Oracle Consulting. The NDUS uses Campus Solutions for several functions, including admissions, recruitment, student records, and financial aid. The implementation is part of ConnectND, a joint project between NDUS and the North Dakota state government to replace legacy academic and state government applications with an integrated suite composed of PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions, Enterprise Financial Management, and Enterprise Human Capital Management.
Indiana University (IU), with 99,000 students on its eight campuses, recently upgraded to PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions 9.0, providing admissions, academic, and transfer credit information to administrative staff, faculty and advisors in a self-service format. The "Faculty Center" allows faculty to manage student and advisee-related activities, view complete weekly teaching schedules and class details, search for courses, and enter grades in a class roster. The new "Student Center" tools, "Enrollment Shopping Cart" and "My Planner," lets students plan their schedules in advance of registration appointments.
